Imphal, July 20 2012:
Complaining of inadequate infrastructure in the college, the Thoubal College Students' Union has threatened to launch violent form of agitation if the authority concerned fails to redress the grievances of the students within August 14 .
Addressing media persons today in the Thoubal College premises today, general secretary of the students' union, Thongam Bikramjit said the college has been lacking teaching faculty in the Computer Science department though it has around 65 students.
Since no regular classes have been taken, the students of the department refused to take their exam, he said.
Demanding the transfer of the three allegedly irregular part-time teachers of the department, the students' union also urged for replacement by efficient teachers.
Due to inefficient functioning, the students had put the Computer Science Laboratory and the Library under lock.
Bikramjit further said that due to absence of proper fencing, the campus has been turned into a grazing ground for cattle .
He also lamented that the plea to install ceiling fans in the classrooms has been turned a deaf ear by the concerned authority while adding that there is a need to construct separate toilets for boys and girls.
