Imphal, August 06:
The SPF Legislature wing met today at the CM's office from 6 pm till 9.45 pm to discuss the law and order situation in the wake of the growing demand to lift the Armed Forces Special Powers Act.
Though no definite stand was adopted, the meeting minutely discussed the prevailing law and order situation, said sources.
After minute discussion, the meeting agreed that taking the sentiments of the public into consideration, the prerogative of lifting the said Act be left to the Cabinet.
The 8 MLAs including two Ministers who had earlier promised that they would resign if the Act is not lifted by Aug 15, urged the Govt to do the needful.
