With the completion of examining family members of the Th Manorama today, around 20 witnesses have appeared before the Thangjam Manorama Death Inquiry Commission so far.
Officer-in-Charge of Irilbung police station and personnel of 17 Assam Rifles are yet to be examined by the Commission.
Press sources informed that the panel headed by retired District and Sessions Judge Ch Upendra is likely to examine the AR personnel tomorrow but the number of personnel to appear before the Commission are yet to be furnished till date.
Today, the panel examined Dr H Nabachandra Singh of RIMS Forensic Department who conducted the first post mortem examination on Manorama's remains, besides the victim's younger brother Th Dolendro and two police officers, one of whom had registered an FIR case.
The case was later handed over to the other police officer, who was posted at Irilbung police station on July 15, this year.
While testifying before the panel today, Dolendro contended that Manorama's mouth was gagged by the security personnel who came to arrest the 32 year old woman.
When his (Dolendro) mother tried to intervene one of the personnel hit her (mother) on the chest after which the elderly woman lost consciousness and collapsed to the ground requiring hospitalization some few days after the incident, continued Dolendro.
He further asserted that Manorama had never volunteered to hand over any radio set.

On the other hand, during cross examination, Dr Nabachandra conveyed that considering the nature of the injuries inflicted upon the victim about 55 ml to a litre of blood should have been found from the spot where the victim's body was retrieved.
One of the Irilbung police station Md Baniamin, a Sub-Inspector who was reported at the police station on July 15 and took up one of the to FIRs filed on the matter, stated he had examined six other witnesses in connection with the case.
The investigation pertaining to FIR case No 30 (7), 2004 Irilbung PS was conducted earlier by one ASI ranked official named as Nongyai Singh.
