Imphal, August 06:
Even as the Opposition has passed a resolution to urge the Speaker to convene an emergency session of the State Assembly to discuss the possibility of lifting the Disturbed Area Act from Manipur, the State Government has prorogued the Assembly.
A notification to this effect was issued yesterday by the then Governor Arvind Dave.
Meanwhile strongly reacting against the decision of the SPF Cabinet to prorogue to Assembly, FPM MLA L Ibomcha today issued a statement stating that the decision to prorogue the Assembly is against the interest of the people.
