Imphal, January 21 2016:
CPI Khurai Local Council submitted a memorandum
to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi pressing different demands
yesterday.
Speaking to reporters at Irawat Bhawan, CPI-MSC State
executive member RK Amusana said that the council demanded
the Government to save the life of Irom Chanu
Sharmila by repealing AFSPA from the State.
Contending that many areas of Khurai AC have not been
getting even a drop of tap water since the past many years,
the memorandum urged the Chief Minister to take up necessary
steps to supply tap water to the people of Khurai.
The memorandum also demanded that Khurai Lamlong
Keithel be developed as a modern market complex.
Although, Lamlong Keithel is an important market where
people of different communities have been selling different
wares, it has not witnessed any change since the past many
decades, the memorandum added.
