Imphal, January 21 2016:
For
maximum number of the State's
LPG distributors, the backlogs
in terms of refill distribution
has been reduced to a few days
as per official records.
However, according to
information given by these
distributors through
newspapers for delivery of
refills, backlogs extending
from 45 days to two months still
exist.
The IOC is aware of this
huge variation between the
actual backlogs and the offi-
cial backlogs.
Kim-Joe Gas Service,
Churachandpur district is one
of the LPG distributors of
which the backlog has been
reduced to a few days.
The distributor has around
10243 active consumers and
it has delivered refills to all
consumers who made their
bookings on January 14 or
earlier.
Between January 14 and
18, 4293 consumers made
fresh bookings with the dis-
tributor whose performance is
rated excellent.
Altogether 74 consumers
made their bookings on Janu-
ary 14, 1004 consumers on
January 15, 1229 consumers
on January 16 and 1986 con-
sumers made their bookings
on January 18.The number
of consumers who made their
bookings between January 19
and 21 could not be ascer-
tained.
The distributor has been
delivering 261.46 refills in a
day on the average and one of
its consumers has received 12
refills this financial year.
According to IOC's calcu-
lation, if a household
consumes seven refills of
14.2 Kg in a year, it is rated
as average consumption.
Consumption of 12 refills
in a year can be termed extra-
ordinary if one takes into
account the vast majority of
the State's LPG consumers
who find it hard to get even
four/five refills.
Two other consumers of the same distributor have also been delivered
11 refills each.
10 refills each have been delivered to 12 consumers, nine
refills each to 23 consumers and eight refills each to 75
consumers.
However, the vast majority of consumers have been issued
only one to four refill(s) each.
