Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, November 26 2012:
Army and Assam Rifles units which do not have permanent structures of their own in Manipur would be given No Objection Certificates for their stay in the areas where they are posted.
Following an intimation from the Union Home Ministry to the State Government to give NOCs particularly to AR units which do not have permanent structures for the lands on which their camps are located, the Chief Secretary convened a meeting and discussed the matter.
The meeting was also attended by military officers and Deputy Commissioners.
The meeting agreed that Deputy Commissioners would initiate due process related to occupation of sites by army and AR camps.
