All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) and Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA have jointly submitted a memorandum to the Education Minister to press the demand for appointment of full time chairman and secretary of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur.
The memorandum joint signed by AMSU president Birendra Chingkham, DESAM president K Chinglenkhomba and KSA president Th Ajitkanta pointed out that the posts of Chairman and Secy of the Board which have been lying vacant for a long time, thereby harming the cause of education of young students in the State.
While observing that the student community in Manipur are in turmoil due to lack of a proper education policy of the State, inability to produce school textbooks in time, lack of co-ordination between the Govt and the school authorities and general breakdown of the educational system in the State, the memorandum set October 20 as the deadline for appointment of full-time chairman and secretary of the Board.
