As usual the Manipur People's Liberation Front has announced October 15 as National Black Day and asked the people to strictly observe general strike from 1 am till 5.30 pm of this day.
Plying of vehicles, screening of films at cinema halls, entertainment programmes and business activities have been banned in connection with the National Black Day, said a statement of MPLF's permanent body and called upon the people to burn copies of the controversial 'Merger agreement' in the evening.
However, religious ceremonies and movement related to medical services have been exempted from the purview of the general strike, said the statement while appealing to all concerned not to call bandh or impose other form of agitation on this day.
MPLF, a conglomerate of various underground outfits of Manipur had been observing October 15 as National Black Day to denounce the 'merger agreement' that marked the end of Manipur's sovereignty.
