Mutum Binoykumar Singh, who has been elevated as Judge of Gauhati High Court will be administered oath of secrecy and office by Chief Justice SS Reddy at the Court's Principal Seat tomorrow.
Formerly Registrar of Guahati HC, Binoykumar s/o (L) M Charugopal Singh of Keishampat Leimajam Leikai was among four incumbents elevated to the post of Judges by an order issued by the President of India.
With the elevation of Binoykumar number of High Court Judges hailing from manipur has reached four.
MHRC notices: The manipur Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the Deputy Commissioner, SP and OC of Bishnupur district today in connection to an alleged demolition of Dr Ambedkar Fishing Demonstration village, Thanga Sendra road that reportedly took place on October 3. The Commission's proceeding is in accordance with a complaint petition filed by one H Kangjamba Singh, who is said to be president of Moirang-based Manipur unit's president of National Association of Fisherman.
The complainant contended that the demolition of the entire village was carried out without giving proper notice to the inhabitants.
Apart from the villagers not allowed to even remove their household items, it alleged that a woman's hand was suffered fracture owing to police bash-up of the villagers.
While issuing the notice to the officials, the Commission asked the them to furnish replies by November 14, this year.
It also registered the matter as an MHRC case for inquiry under the relevant provisions of the Protection of Human Rights Act 1993.
