'Tamenglong' over Arabian Sea

The female Amur Falcon, Tamenglong' which was tagged with a satellite radio transmitter is currently flying over the Arabian Sea and will most probably reach Somalia/South Africa tomorrow.
It may be mentioned that two Amur Falcons, 'Manipur' and 'Tamenglong', were tagged with transmitters by the Forest Department in collaboration with Wildlife Institute of India and Hungarian Raptor biologists on November 5 .
However, Manipur was unfortunately killed at Khebuching on November 9 .
On the other hand, the female bird which left Tamenglong district in the early morning of November l9, has travelled 3500 kilometres till date.
It is reported that the bird Tamenglong, is flying with other Amur Falcons which were tagged with similar transmitters from Nagaland inn a group.
