Imphal, January 21 2015:
The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), as per a resolution adopted by its executive council, has cautioned the general public as well as the school Principals in particular not to send any school contingents for participation in the forthcoming Republic Day celebration, reports our correspondent.
Any schools under the jurisdiction of TKS should not take part in the Republic Day event.
The TKS has been observing the trend for the past several years and noticed that the welfare of the student community has not been taken into consideration, nor their needs looked into particularly in the run up to their preparations for the event.
Therefore the students' body is issuing this notification as a pre-emptive measure against the negative dealings of the Government in taking care of the student community, the TKS said.
At the same time, the TKS has restricted venturing out of students within its jurisdiction outside their home after 5.30 pm in view of the coming Class X and XII board exams.
Wishing all the best to the students who are appearing for the Board and Council exams, the TKS warned all concerned against the use of unfair means in the ensuing exams.
