Kangpokpi, January 21 2015:
The All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) today strongly opposed the Government's orders dated May 5, 2010 of the Finance Department (Pay Implementation Cell) for classification of Posts stating that it will filch away all the reservation opportunities of the tribal with regard to promotion.
Emboi Serto, president of ATSUM said that the orders included Subedars and Inspectors with a pay band of Rs 4,400 in Group A which is totally embarrassing and unacceptable to the tribal people.
He said that Subedars and Inspectors are in the category of Class-II Non-Gazetted officers and pointed out that even CRPF Inspectors who are enjoying Rs 3,200 pay band are not in Group A .
If the Government goes ahead with the orders then the tribals will lose all the opportunities of reservation in promotion as they will be considered as officers in Group A whereas they do not enjoy the facilities of being a Group A officer, added Emboi.
Therefore, the ATSUM appeals to the State Government and the authority concerned to take the matter with seriousness and reconsider the orders as well as direct the officials concerned to look into the points, Emboi urged.
The ATSUM leader also said that a representation in this regard has already been submitted to the Chief Secretary, PS to Dy CM in charge of Home Ministry, all tribal Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries and MLAs, all ADC members, all apex bodies of tribal organizations and tribal students' bodies.
