Central officials visit Willong

Willong Khullen, January 21 2015:
Vijay Chhibber, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highway, Government of India visited Willong to inspect the newly approved National Highway-102/C along Maram-Peren Road connecting Dimapur on Wednesday.
A grand reception rarely given to any dignitaries was accorded to the visiting official by Willong area villages.
Accompanied by his wife and daughter, the occasion was also graced by Shambu Singh, IAS Jt.

The visiting dignitaries were also accompanied by local RD & PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa, DC Jacintha Lazarus, SP Isak Shah, Tadubi SDO Ganguiliu Gangmei, Col.SP Yadav, Commandant, 15 BRTF and others.
Minister Francis was in full praise of the visiting Central dignitaries and announced that the new National Highway-102/C will become the first NH to be declared since the State of Manipur attained its Statehood.
Addressing the gathering, Vijay Chhibber informed that the DPR for necessary works to be implemented has begun and that the National Highway work is expected to begin soon to facilitate connectivity between Maram and Dimapur.
The new national highway will be an alternate route to NH-2 or NH-37 which sometime is hit by landslide, bandh, strikes and blockades, he noted.
