Meihoubam Rakesh today submitted a representation to the state chief secretary drawing government attention to place the Inquiry Report submitted by the Commission of Inquiry into the death of Thangjam Manorama before the Cabinet and consider for appropriate actions on the basis of the findings of the inquiry reports, said a release of the Human Rights Law Network today.
While reproducing the representation submitted by Rakesh, the counsel namely Khumanlei and Dorendro, mother and younger brother of the deceased Thangjam Manorama, the statement observed that the resultant effect of the judgment and order of the court passed on August 31 was that the Manipur government can examine the inquiry report and take appropriate action against the personnel of 17 Assam Rifles, if any, indicated in the report without loss of time.
