Imphal, December 31 2008:
The Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) in a press release today appealed the concern authority to look into the provisions of the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination Rules and act accordingly in the interest of the student community.
The release stated that the provisions of the said examination rules notified on February 4, 2008 is in contrast to the procedures adopted by the MPSC in the preliminary examination conducted on February 2006 where the ratio is 1:15 of the vacant posts.
MUSU also claimed that the provision is also in the contrary to the normal practice followed by the UPSC and other state�s Civil Services Commissions like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh etc.
where the ratio is 12:15 times the vacant post.
As the said provision was not aware by the appeared casndidates before the preliminary examination, a sense of confusion is created among the candidates in preparing for the Main Examination.
The release also stated various competitive examinations like MCS, MPS, MFS, SDCs, Section Officer and Election Officers do not held as an annual feature.
