STATE CHIEF Minister O Ibobi has extended greetings and wishes to the people of Manipur as the New Year sets in.
In a message, the Chief Minister stated that the New Year is a time to reflect upon the year by gone, upon successes, achievements and mistakes.
It also gives us a chance to set new goals and to renew our resolve to strive for individual as well as collective well being.
As the sun rises over the new year, let's renew our thoughts and work with unity and dedication to make Manipur a more peaceful and prosperous state, the Chief Minister stated in his message.
Manipur People's Party president, Dr Chandramani Leishangthem has conveyed his best wishes and greetings as the New Year has arrived.
In a message, Dr Chandramani stated that as the year 2008, which was filled with daily killings and uncertainty, and had no value of life, is over, along with the dark year that trampled on human rights, may the dark night of all the peopleof Manipur pass.
As the new sun of the New Year 2009 rise, may the New year usher in a peaceful and prosperous life that has value of living, Dr Chandramani on behalf of all workers of the MPP stated in his message.
Inner Manipur MP,Dr T Meinya has also extended his best wishes and greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of New Year Day.
Dr Meinya in his New Year message stated that along with taking, new strides towards development in various fields, the year 2008 which was packed with killings and terrifying incidents has come to a close, and the mankind is about to step into the New Year 2009.
He further stated that India and Manipur state had come across a lot of tragic and joyous incidents in 2008.But in this New Year 2009, let's all join hands and stride together with love on the path of peace towards progress.
May God give us a New Year which is without discrimination and distinction between case, creed and community and year in which incidents of violence do not occur, Dr Meinya prayed.
