CCpur, February 11 2021:
The joint student bodies of Churachandpur have today called on the Directorate of Education (S), to revoke its earlier order on opening of schools and open the new academic session without any further delay.
It has also urged all learning institutions in Churachandpur district to resume their admission processes and start new academic session at the earliest.
The call for opening of schools was made by the student bodies as they are against the move to further prolong closure of learning institutions in the name of "uniform academic session" when CBSE Exams are barely months away and all normal activities are getting back to normal.
The Joint Student Bodies, Churachandpur (ZSF/GHQ, KSO/CCPUR, HSA Jt HQ, MZP-Manipur) appreciated and acknowledged the much needed steps taken by the Government, from restrictions of movement to closures of schools, in an attempt to break the spread of the Coronavirus.
However, "we will not allow such move to further prolong closure of learning institutions in the name of "uniform academic session" when CBSE exams are just months away and all normal activities are getting back to normal," said the joint student bodies.
Students cannot afford to lose any academic year when they have already lost more than 11 odd months since 12th March 2020 .
Adding to this, skewed by economic status and geography, most students of Churachandpur could not even avail e-learning or digital learning.
Poverty, internet inaccessibility further exacerbated the problems of digital learning processes last year, said the students in a joint statement issued today.
It further dubbed the move to prolong closure schools as "anti-student", "anti-education", "an attempt to jeopardize students' careers" and "a move to deprive students of their Right to Education" .
Stating that any move to further prolong closure of schools will be opposed, the student bodies said it will take up action in conformity with democratic principles to ensure that the interest of students are upheld.
