Many send out Yaoshang greetings

Governor Dr KK Paul and Chief Minister O Ibobi have extended heartiest greetings to the people of the State on the joyous occasion of Yaoshang.
The festival of Holi known as Yaoshang in the State which is celebrated with the onset of spring is a celebration symbolising the rejuvenation of the very spirit of life and the young and the old alike take part in this festival of colours, a greeting message of the Governor said.
One healthy development that has come about in Yaoshang is the entry of sports as an important item during the celebration of the festival, the Governor underlined.
"Let us all celebrate Yaoshang in its true spirit with the participation of all communities and resolve to make Manipur a better and peaceful State where mutual respect and love prevail among all communities," the Governor wished.
In a message, CM O Ibobi said that Yaoshang, one of the biggest festivals of Manipur, is a festival of joy and reconciliation which everybody, old and young, enjoy with gaiety and enthusiasm.
Yaoshang emphasises the message of love and the spirit of harmony and friendship amongst the different communities of the State, the CM said while wishing that the festival brings peace, prosperity and happiness in the State and strengthen the social fabric further.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has greeted all the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Yaoshang (Holi).
In his message, Gaikhangam prayed that the colourful festival may bring peace and harmony among different communities of the State.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar has also called upon all the people of Manipur to dedicate themselves to the cause of truth.
His message also reminded about the dictum 'truth always triumphs' .
Conveying best wishes to all the people of the State MP Dr T Meinya prayed that this Yaoshang festival heralds peace and progress in Manipur.
CPI Manipur State Council secretary Dr M Nara called upon all the people to celebrate Yaoshang with all the bonhomie and also to groom one's physical and mental health.
CPI (M-L) Manipur State Committee secretary AS Singh wished that the festival of colours may bestow mutual love, respect and prosperity upon the people of Manipur.
IGAR (S) Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra and all ranks of Assam Rifles have extended warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Yaoshang (Holi) .
In a statement, IGAR (S) prayed that the festival heralds an era of peace, progress and prosperity in the region and enhances the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood amongst the people of all the communities of the State.
