Imphal, March 04 2015:
Referring to the withdrawal of Bills for construction of fence along Nambul river by a second party, special contractor Thokchom Nodiachand has appealed to the State Government to investigate into the matter and ensure that the contractors who actually executed the work are given due Bills.
Speaking to mediapersons at Manipur Press Club, Nodiachand said, "Fence construction work at Nambul river was executed after obtaining due work order.
The allegation of executing the construction work without the work order should be clarified by the authority concerned.
The work order issued earlier was manipulated and the DDO concerned should come out with a clarificaton" .
N Kumar, who was also present at the press meet said, "The work order for fence construction work along Nambul river was obtained under my name and power of attorney was given to Nodiachand.
I had personally handed over a cheque of Rs 29,11,000 to Nodiachand" .
On the same day, commandos came to Nodiachand's residence with the Government's cheque and forcefully took Nodiachand to the State Bank of India, Imphal Secretariat branch.
After the cheque was deposited, Nodiachand was informed that validity of clearance period was over and thus I should accompany Nodiachand to clear the cheque" .
N Kumar further said that he had spoken over the phone with Imphal West SP.
