Subsidies don't reach 134

Imphal, December 01 2015: Although the maximum of number of subsidized LPG refills entitled to a consumer in a year is 12, Leibaklei Gas Kakching has issued 14 refills each to two consumers and 13 refills each to five consumers between April and November this year.

The distributor has around 12866 active consumers out of whom 11306 are DBTL consumers.

The distributor has also issued 12 refills each to 20 consumers, 11 refills each to 35 consumers, 10 refills each to 37 consumers, nine refills each to 48 consumers, eight refills each to 26 consumers, seven refills each to 21 consumers, six refills each to 31 consumers, five refills each to 88 consumers and four refills each to 86 consumers.

The two consumers who have been given 14 refills each are Sagolsem Chandra-mani (consumer no.10436 and E Brajach Singh (consumer no 12575).While sub- sidy amount of Rs 2255.90 has been transferred to the bank account of Chandra-mani, no subsidy has entered the bank account of E Brajach.

M Sobhashini Devi (consumer no 12521), Mangi Singh (consumer no 12518), M Nandadori Devi (consumer number 12535), S Premjit (consumer no 12563) and E Ashokumar Singh (consumer no 12572) have been issued 13 refills each.

However, corresponding subsidy amounts are yet to enter their respective bank accounts.

Out of the 20 consumers who have been given 12 refills each, 19 are yet to get any subsidy.

32 out of 35 consumers who have been issued 11 refills each, 29 out of 37 consumers who have been issued 10 refills each, 34 out of 48 consumers who have been issued nine refills each, 13 out of 26 consumers who have been issued eight refills each one out of 21 consumers who have been issued seven refills each and one out of 88 consumers who have been issued five refills each are yet to get any subsidy.

Altogether 134 consumers out of 400 consumers who have been issued maximum number of refills are yet to get any subsidy.

This evokes a serious question whether these consumers are not genuine DBTL consumers of the distributor.
