Hectic processes are on to install a hi-tech machine called Aeronautical Meteorological Instrument System (AMIS) at India Meteorological Department, Imphal airport, said press source.
The AMIS is a system with in-built digital technology that can trace minute changes of weather datas from various observatory equipments connected to a monitor.
Weather conditions like temperature, humidity, rainfall quantity, wind speed indicating its direction and visibility distance can be collected through this system even without field observation, explained the source.
It further informed that the monitoring centre will be upgraded with forecasting facility same as the Guwahati centre.
