Imphal, June 20 2010:
The UNACCO Foundation Trust and Luxmi Development Institute, Khongman, Imphal East district today distributed merit scholar to 206 students and excellent award 2010 to four students selected from five districts of the state.
The award distribution function was held at the campus of the UNACCO School of Excellence, Khongman.
State work minister K Ranjit graced the function as chief guest.
Deputy chairman of the state planning board, Bijoy Koijam also attended as guest of honour.
Speaking as chief guest Ranjit lauded the effort of the UNACCO stating that it will encourage students in working hard for a worthy pillar of the state.

For advancing the state forward production of ideal students is a must.
Government is also taking up various schemes for the development of education system.
Giving scholarships to student security first position upto 300 in the HSSLC and HSLC exams conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary School and Board of Secondary Education had already launched by the government.
During the period of SPF government, not only in the field of education but also various welfare schemes for the people have taken up.
At the beginning, SPF government confronted financial problems in taking up various developmental and welfare works of the people but now such problems had been solved and able to distribute monthly salaries of employees regularly, he said.
Bijoy Koijam, who attended the function as guest of honour, asserted that despite the unrest situation prevailing in the state, very promising and good students are producing in the state.
if compared with the other peaceful states, the rate of producing good students in the state is very high.
He also praised UNACCO for introducing merit scholar awards to the students observing that it will encourage students in working hard.
Government should also make policy which would imparts or generate jobs to unemployed educated youths.
The award distribution function presided over by the director of UNACCO, Irabanta was also attended Former editor of Prajatantra, K Modhumangol and ICM principal Kh Somorendra.
Out of the 206 students who had given merit awards, 49 are from Imphal east, 64 from Imphal west, 18 from Bishnupur district, 60 from Thoubal and 15 from Churachandpur district.
Each student will be given Rs 100 every month.
The four Excellence Award winner students will get Rs 1000 each per month for three years.
