Imphal, July 15:
Noting that it would not be enough for the Education Department alone to cleanse the present mess in the Department and education system of the State, Education Minister L Jayentakumar has called upon all the people of the State to join hands in cleansing the mess and face challenges collectively.
This was stated during a felicitation ceremony organised in his honour by the Keishamthong A/C Co-Ordinating Development Committee at the residence of RK Mukhrasana at Keisamthong Moirang Ningthou Leikai.
Acknowledging that the issues plaguing the Education Department demand much greater effort and sincerity, Jayentakumar remarked that it requires a concerted and sustained effort to redress the issues besetting the education system and to offset the various challenges from time to time.
Confessing that it would be impossible to shoulder the responsibility of rectifying the flawed education system alone, Minister Jayentakumar appealed to all the employees of the Department to work with sincerity and commitment towards this end in the interest of future generations.
Conveying that there were instances when he was asked as to why he assumed the charge of the collapsed Department, he confided his intention to bring some significant positive changes in the ailing Department and the flawed system.
The Education Minister disclosed that efforts are on to replace the existing system of 'in-charges' with 'regular postings' in the Education Department.
The programme was presided Mukhrasana.
A similar felicitation function in honour of the Minister was also organised by the Development Committee Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai today.
