Regarding the controversial death of Sunibala, Dr Laishram Sukumar has confessed that the death resulted from his negligence and mistake.
He further declared that he will not work in private clinics or hospitals or treat patients at home ever again.
Not only in the case of Sunibala, he admitted his fatal blunder in the cases relating to the death of Takhelchangbam Aruna of Wangbal Mayai Leikai on July 27, 2004 and Chingkham Sarda of Konjengbam Leikai on June 26 this year.
Dr Sukumar confessed his guilt in these cases during a press meet at his Keisamthong Hodam Leirak residence today.
Dr Sukumar was accused of gross negligence resulting in the death of Keisam Sunibala of Utlou Mayai Leikai on July 1 at RIMS after delivering a baby boy at Leirik Memorial Hospital on June 29.Tendering apology to the families of the victims for his blunder and the JAC, Dr Sukumar withdrew his contention that Sunibala died of a medical complication known as Thrombotic Thrombocitic perpura.
Following the acceptance of his guilt by Dr Sukumar, the JAC Against the Several Deaths Due to the Negligence of Dr L Sukumar has withdrawn all prohibitions imposed against the doctor, said the JAC convenor N Dhanaprakash.
Moreover, the JAC has also cancelled all its agitation plans including the proposed general strike on July 17.
