While decrying the absence of officials of Electricity Department at their stations, even as it has been two weeks since electricity supply to the whole Tamenglong district has been snapped, the NSCN (IM), Zeliangrong region has appealed to the district level officers to stay at their stations and discharge their duties.
NSCN (IM) Zeliangrong region's CAO Salemyang while highlighting the inconveniences caused to the public due to irregular electricity supply, appealed to high-level officials of the Department to address the grievances of the people.
Observing that the PWD is not functioning properly in Tamenglong district in addition to anomalies in billing system, Salemyang appealed to the EE and AE concerned to put up at their stations and discharge their duties.
The CAO also cautioned that the party would keep a strict vigil against irresponsible officials.
He further appealed to concerned officials of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Fishery and Forest to discharge their duties from their respective stations.
Running offices by peons/chowkidars is unethical and it warrants punished under 'law of the land', he cautioned.
Meanwhile, ZSU, Tamenglong district has lodged a complaint to the Tamenglong Deputy Commissioner today against failure of the Electricity Department to restore electricity supply to Tamenglong district, reports our Tamenglong correspondent.
Co-ordinator of the student body, Mathiusang Panmei said that only controller and lineman were present in the Tamenglong Electricity office when they made surprise visit to the office.
Responsible officials were not present at their station, he said.
