Source: Hueiyen News Service A total of 137 voluntary blood donors including a physically challenged young girl and blind persons donated blood in connection with the observance of the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day held at the Blood Bank, RIMS Hospital today.
The Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch organized the observance in association with the State Blood Transfusion Council, Manipur and Blood Bank, RIMS Hospital.
Among the 137 blood donors, it included from Churachnadpur, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Imphal West and Imphal East.
A physically challenged young girl donated her blood for the eighth time while many other blind persons also donated their blood, expressed a statement of Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch.
Two blind persons who have donated blood for more than 20 times, two officials of the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur who have donated for more than 15 times and the physically challenged girl donating for the eighth time were hnoured with mementos and certificates as mark of their continue the humanitarian gesture on the occasion.
A lucky draw for 137 blood donors of the day was also held to decide the lucky winners of 10 numbers of Nokia Mobile handsets, the statement signed by its information officer Dr L Tomcha Khuman stated.
