IGNOAPS to be distributed

Social Welfare office, Saitu Gamphajol, Sadar Hills will be distributing the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme at Kangpokpi, Keithelmanbi, Saitu and Saikul sub-divisions from June 24 till July 9, reports our correspondent.
N Usharani Devi, Social Welfare Officer, Saitu Gamphazol, Kangpokpi said that IGNOAPS beneficiaries (red and blue card holders) of Kangpokpi sub division will be receive the pension amount on June 24 and June 25 at ADC Complex, Kangpokpi while beneficiaries from Keithelmanbi (Champhai) sub-division will be given the same on June 27 and June 30 at Keithelmanbi community hall.
Beneficiaries of Saitu-Gamphazol sub-division will receive them on July 1, 2, 3 and 5 at the SDO office, Saitu and beneficiaries of Saikul will get the same from July 6 to July 8 at the SDO office, Saikul respectively.
The distribution of the pension amount will start from 10 in the morning and wind up at 3 in the evening.
N Usharani Devi appealed to all the beneficiaries to come in person along with four recent colour passport size photos, xerox and original copies of voter ID or Adhaar card, Old Age Pension card and bank passbook and added that beneficiaries without the complete documents will not be entertained.
However, for those who cannot come under medical grounds, the department concerned is planning to make an arrangement and hand over the pension amount at the doorstep after required medical documents are submitted to the authority concerned.
The Social Welfare officer also informed that pensioners who have lost their pension cards may submit the necessary documents such as xerox copy of bank passbook, voter ID card or Adhaar card and five recent passport size photographs at the office for issuance of new card.
Spot inquiry will be conducted after which a new card will be issued to claim the pension amount.
She added that pension amount (from January 2014 to February, 2015) for beneficiaries between the age group of 60-79 years will be Rs 2800 while beneficiaries who are 80 years and above will be given Rs 5500 for the period from March 2014 to January 2015 .
