Talking to The Sangai Express, Akachandra, who is one of the spokesmen of the Association informed that the new signboard has the same wordings found on the old signboard but more distinctly written 'Site for Manipur Institute of Performing Arts, Plot-88, Sector-18, Gurgaon'.

It may be recalled here that some time back, Principal Resident Commissioner of Manipur Bhavan, New Delhi Rakesh had signed for leasing out the said plot of land measuring 4.25 acres to one Adani Export Limited on the sly.
However, in the last Assembly session, CM O Ibobi Singh clarified that the land had not been leased out and it would be utilised efficiently and for the stated purpose.
However, so far necessary measures have not been taken up for handing over the said plot of land to the custody of Department of Art and Culture.
The Manipur Diaspora Association is likely to filed a complaint with the Government of Manipur in this regard very soon.
The said plot of land was acquired at a low premium from the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) by the State Government during the period of RK Joychandra as the Chief Minister of Manipur for the purpose of setting up a performing art centre for the promotion of the Manipuri performing arts forms among outside people.
