Signaling a change in strategy in the class boycott call given by the AMSU, DESAM and MSF, the three student bodies today announced that there will be some changes in the stir for classes 1 to X.The student bodies however did specify what those changes will be.
In a statement the student bodies said that the boycott stir will continue and asked students from Class XI till the university level to extend their co-operation to the class boycott stir from September 10 to 16.Meanwhile there has been no let up in the class boycott stir launched as part of the ongoing agitation for complete withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Manipur with more and more schools/ colleges responding and extending support to the agitation which has entered its 9th day today.
Kangleipak Modern School, Singda has called an indefinite class boycott call with effect from today, Principal of the school HM Luwang announced in a statement.
Langmeidong Higher Secondary School has also followed suit by giving an indefinite class boycott call.
In a statement, general secretary of the students� union of the Nongthombam Sanathoi appealed to all the students and teachers to refrain from attending their classes.
Expressing solidarity to the public demand for revocation of the draconian Act, the students� union of Remnant Christian School, Chingkhulong has boycotted all the classes of the school till September 14.Manipur College of Technology, Takyelpat would also remain closed from today till September 13, in support of the ongoing class boycott agitation for complete withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Manipur, students� union president of the college Tansen Konjengbam informed in a statement.
