Altogether 78 impersonators were arrested in the written examination for recruitment of about 600 Riflemen in the IV IRB.
Speaking to The Sangai Express DIG Anish Dayal, who is the chairman of the recruitment board, said that 78 impersonators were arrested by the Heingang police during the written text for recruitment of the Riflemen held at Police Training School, Pangei from August 26 till September 6.All have been remanded to judicial custody, he informed.
The impersonators were caught during the finger print test, said the IPS officer and added that Heingang Police have registered FIR cases against each of the impersonators.
Meanwhile as many as 52 persons accused of impersonation in the said exam were produced before the CJM 1st Class, Imphal East today.
Around 20 of them were released on bail on health ground while the remaining have been remanded to judicial custody till September 18.The bail was granted on a personal bond of Rs 1000 and a surety bond of the same amount each.
