Imphal, August 02 2009:
Due to the ongoing economic blockade being imposed by Senapati District Students' Association and All Tribal Students' Union Manipur separately, altogether 120 loaded trucks, heading for Imphal, are currently stranded at Mao Gate.
While SDSA has been demanding repairing of NH-39 from Maram to Senapati, the ATSUM's blockade is related with reservation matters.
The Senapati District Students' Association had also earlier imposed an economic blockade to protest the shabby condition of NH-39 .
The earlier assurance to repair the highway has not been implemented, as yet.
