Personnel of 28 Assam rifles have declined cooperation to the investigation of a case connected to the gunning down of a retired teacher - LD Rengtuiwan - of Bungte Chiru allegedly involving the security force personnel.
Two FIRS have been registered at Bishnupur police station related to the November 16, 2004 firing incident wherein the retired teacher was slain.
The FIRs pertains to one lodged by the AR and another by the victim's son, said police source.
An AR havildar said to be the complainant failed to turn up at the police station when summoned conveying that he was on leave, informed the source.
In connection with the case, retired Judge C Upendra, who is heading the inquiry commission for establish facts and circumstances leading to the death of Rengtuiwan, today examined Additional SP of Bishnupur district police Jayanta, former OC of the police station Sanajaoba and Nambol OC Muhindro.
