Imphal, February 01:
Following the deregistration of the United Friendship Organisation, popularly known as SATJAL, and the suspension of 4 Govt employees for being members of the organisation, the Govt is set to intensify its action and may dismiss the four placed under suspension currently.
Concurrently, the police is closely monitoring the activities of the UFO members.
Disclosing this to The Sangai Express, a highly placed source said that the Govt cracked down on UFO for observing the Manipur Independence Day last year and added that apart from cancelling its registration licence, the Govt may dismiss the four Govt employees who are currently under suspension.
The registration licence of the UFO was cancelled as a registered organisation cannot indulge in any anti-National activities, said the source adding that if the UFO continues with its activities, then the Govt may ban it.
Though UFO had earlier expressed its desire to talk with the Govt, the Govt is unlikely to reciprocate.
Govt employees who have since retired but are still members of UFO will also have their pension cancelled, added the source.
With the Government cracking down on the organisation, the police is keeping a close tab on UFO and will take up fitting action if they continue with their activities, informed a reliable source from the Police Department.
