Representatives of the local travel agencies today put forward a battery of demands for the development of tourism in the State before the visiting members of the Parliamentary Committee during a meeting at the State Guest House this evening.
Headed by social worker Amrik Singh Pahwa of Goodwill Agency, representatives of the travel agencies while pointing out the inconveniences being faced by travellers owing to insufficient number of daily flights, demanded more flights sources said.
Taking into account the eagerness of foreign tourist to visit Manipur, they urged upon the team to the lift the Restricted Area Permit (RAP) and also develop the tourism industry in the State.
They also demanded for resumption of the defunct restaurant at the Imphal Airport.
Noting down the demands of the travel agencies, the parliamentary team assured to look into the matter and take up necessary actions.
