Heingang AC records highest poll pc at 91.13

Among all the Assembly segments which make up Inner Manipur PC, Heingang AC, the home Constituency of Chief Minister N Biren recorded the highest poll percentage at 91.13 .
The final poll percentage for Inner Manipur PC has turned out to be 81.16 while the corresponding figure for Outer Manipur PC is 84.20 .
Whereas Heingang AC recorded highest poll percentage in Inner Manipur PC, Thangmeiband AC recorded lowest poll percentage at 71.86 .
Briefing media persons at his Lamphelpat office today on the election to Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat which was held yesterday, CEO PK Singh said that the final poll percentage increased from the previously estimated figure to 81.16 .
While 83.19 per cent of all female voters exercised their franchise, 78.99 per cent of male voters exercise their right to vote.

As for Outer Manipur PC, the total poll percentage has reached 84.24 per cent after taking into account the repoll held at 19 polling stations yesterday.
Mao AC recorded highest poll percentage at 93.23 while Churachandpur AC witnessed lowest turnout at 78.99 per cent, said the CEO.
The total poll percentage for Inner Manipur PC and Outer Manipur PC is 82.75 .
Compared to the 2014 Lok Sabha election, voter turnout increased by 2.67 per cent this year.
Out of the total 1300 polling stations in Inner Manipur PC, 339 polling stations were exclusively manned by women officials and there were 67 model polling stations.
Moreover, 15/32 Lamlong Higher Secondary School polling station was reserved for persons with disabilities.
All polling stations of Yaiskul AC, Bishnupur AC and Churachandpur AC were exclusively manned by women officials, he said.
The CEO said that they have received a letter of appreciation from the National Commission for Women for deputing only women officials to three Assembly segments.
The National Commission for Women hailed the same initiative as a landmark step towards empowerment of women and acknowledgement of their capability.
There were no complaints from any of the polling stations which were exclusively manned by women officials.
Banned items worth Rs 37.55 crore were seized in the run up and during the election and this is the biggest seizure in the entire North East region.
Rs 91.26 lakh in cash, liquor worth Rs 43.57 lakh and drugs worth Rs 31.38 crore were seized, PK Singh said.
Cadres of militant groups under SoO pact also exercised their right to vote without any untoward incident and the credit goes to the Chief Secretary and the DGP, he added.
Two mobile apps namely pollster and e-atlas were used in the Lok Sabha election.
E-atlas app sends signals to the control room if EVM or VVPAT machines break down at any polling station.
By passing the information to the nearest team, the problems can be fixed within minutes, said the CEO.
Pollster helps in tracking polling officials' vehicles through GPS.
Polling process at some polling stations were was also webcast live, he said.
Ahead of the election, 13418 number of guns were deposited with the authority.
On being enquired about repoll, the CEO said that repoll would be held at 6/10 Kyamgei Muslim (South) (A) and 6/20 Urup Muslim polling stations as EVMs of these polling stations were damaged.
There are complaints of malpractices at some other polling stations too.
Scrutiny of the polling held yesterday was done today at the RO's office at Lamphelpat and it went on till late in the evening.
Whether there will be repoll at other polling stations would be decided based on findings of the scrutiny.
Based on the final decision of the scrutiny which was done together with ECI's election observers, necessary recommendation would be sent to the ECI, PK Singh said.
A proposal for repoll would be sent to the ECI on April 22, he added.
Notably, CPI has been demanding repoll at 13 polling stations of Andro AC, 11 polling stations of Heingang AC, three polling stations of Keirao AC and one polling station of Thongju AC.
On the other hand, in Outer Manipur PC, repoll was held at 19 polling stations yesterday.
