NEROCA FC rout KLASA 5-0 to clinch 12th Manipur State League title

NEROCA FC, Sangakpham added yet another feather to their cap as the team thrashed KLASA, Keino 5-0 to claim the title of 12th Manipur State League, 2017 today at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, exactly nine days after clinching 61st CC Meet title in style.
NEROCA FC were feted Rs 2 Lakh and the winners trophy dedicated in the name of Khumukcham Ingocha by chief guest of the closing ceremony RK Rameshwar, managing director, RK Fortune Developer Private : Limited while runners up KLASA were presented with Rs 1 Lakh and the late Khumukcham Ongbi Leonlea Devi trophy by S Sanatomba, president of AMFA who also graced the final match as closing ceremony as functional president.

Y Gopi of NEROCA emerged the highest scorer of the tournament and was also feted with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 along with Late Martin Khumukcham Trophy by RK Sanayaima, general secretary, AMSA.
After CC Meet high, NEROCA FC continued their stellar form against KLASA, Keinou which topped the table for a major portion of the league stage and eased to a comfortable 5-0 win through goals coming from Felix Odili, N Manglem, Th Saran and M Johnson.
Confident NEROCA FC faced a stiff opposition from KLASA in the beginning and saw early chances being lost due to lack of finesse and composure.
KLASA also few some close calls in the first half but lose ground to relentless NEROCA in the latter part of the first half and it was Felix Chidi Odili who opened up scoring in the 40th minute before N Manglem doubled their advantage a couple of minutes latter and made it 2-0 at the break.
Despite enjoying huge lead, NEROCA continued to press the Keinou side after the restart and had their third goal through star of the day, Th Saran in the 58th minute of the match.
KLASA tightened up their defence as their chance of comeback seemed to be impossible but could not sustain to their cause for long as NEROCA midfielders and forwards worked in tandem to find a way through in regular interval.
KLASA's condition further worsened as the time slipped away fast leaving them no chance of making a comeback and M Johnson fired in the fourth in the 82nd minute before Th Saran rose again and drove home the last goal in the 83rd minute and completed the 5-0 rout.
