Imphal, September 23:
Categorically stating that the revolutionary movements in Manipur cannot and will not be taken for a ride by the Indian Government, the president of the Revolutionary People's Front, I Chaorel today said that if India sincerely wants to talk to the revolutionary outfits, then it should first move out all its troops from Manipur.
Moreover India should also give up its conditions that the revolutionary outfits first lay down their arms and enter a talk under the Indian Constitution, said the RPF leader and added that for any talk to proceed the armed cadres should first be recognized as freedom fighters first.
Addressing the people on the 26th foundation day of the PLA which falls on September 25, Chaorel said that there is enough lesson to be learnt from the talks held by the Indian Government with the revolutionary outfits of Tripura, Mizoram and Nagaland and added that the outfits of Manipur will never fall prey to the machinations of India.
Appealing to the people to continue to extend their co-operation, Chaorel said that today the concept of a free nation is no longer dictated by the geographical size or population of the people and there are umpteen examples to prove this.
No nation can ever progress without enjoying the fruits of freedom and sovereignty, said the address and added that Manipur has never been a part of India in the past.
It was through the sacrifices of the forefathers, that Manipur existed as a free nation for over 2000 years, said the RPF leader and added that even today, the Manipuri people have no reason to live under Indian rule.
It was this undying love for freedom and the mother land, that the forefathers of the land took on the mighty British, said the message.
The RPF leader also appealed to the people not to judge the revolutionary movement according to the misdemeanour of some but to look at the movement in its entirety.
Suggestions are always welcome, said the message but added that destructive designs to throw the movement in the wrong light will not be tolerated.
The movement of the people against the imposition of black laws in the land in the aftermath of the killing of Th Manorarna has shown the ugly side of the Indian Government to the whole world.
This has added a new chapter to the movement of the people against the atrocities of the Indian army, said the message.
It has become customary for any new Govt at New Delhi to come out with the dialogue offer, said RPF and noted that the oft repeated theme is that Manipur cannot progress without peace.
However, RPF questioned whether that peace should mean living under the rule of India.
RPF can never take such a situation lying down, said the message.
During the last 50 years, under India, Manipur has suffering on all front, said the message and added that unemployment has reached the four lakh figure while economically it has become dependent on India.
Such a situation was created by India, it charged.
As such to better the lot of the people, self determination is the only way, it said.
Addressing the people, Chaorel said that RPF will continue to seek the help of the people, reasoning that it requires the help to procure sophisticated arms and weapons to face the Indian army.
The topography of the land is such that RPF has no other means but to seek the help of the people, said the message and urged all to continue with their support and co-operation.
The outfit also assured all that the help extended by the people are not used for personal gains but to fight for the cause of the people and land.
The president of the RPF also appealed to all the people to come out and join the struggle.
