Imphal, September 23:
Lauding the Education Minister Francis Ngajokpa for undertaking whirlwind tour of the Ukhrul dist for assessing the academic atmosphere in the dist, Kathor Katamnao Long (KKL) has appealed to the Education Minister to do something constructive and inspiring for the poor students of the dist who have been long denied of basic infrastructure.
In a statement, KKL rued that many former education Ministers had visited the dist many times and had given a lot of assurances but nothing concrete has been taken up till today and further lamented that all appeals from the public for improving the education system to the State Govt have all fallen on deaf ears.
In forming that only 4/5 schools out of the 60 schools located in the dist have proper school buildings, KKL said that most of the regular school teachers hardly attend the daily classes and instead they are filled by substitute teachers who are paid by the regular teachers.
