Calling upon the Government employees to execute their res- pective assignments with dedication and sincerity Rural development and Panchayati Raj Minister of State Allaudin Khan predicted in the absence of such quality the State cannot progress.
Speaking at the inauguration programme of a new Monitoring Cell building of Development Department at the Secretariat North block today, the Minister expressed grave concerned that lack of sincere work culture among the employees would further plunge the State to an abysmal level rather than aspire to compete with other more advanced States.
On the new Monitoring Cell, he said even though the size of the building is miniature the importance of establishing it could not be undermined as it would scrutinize rural development works under the Central government funding.
Acknowledging that rural development in Manipur lacks far behind other States, Allaudin expressed confidence the Monitoring Cell could address the grievances of the rural folks to a great extent as it would be focal point for State-Centre communication which would be futile in case the employees do not exhibit enthusiasm and keen- ness to serve the people.
Taking part in the inauguration programme RD& PR Director Y Neta, who is also the Joint Director of Development Department said the Cell must enact its role to perfection so as to uplift rural areas condition through close State-Centre coordination.
He observed that development of rural areas of Manipur is very dependent on proper execution of assignments by the Cell employees who have to collect information from rural centres to convey the same to the Central authorities so that interrupted funding continues.
The Director also reiterated on indispensability of the cell employees� since work disposal.
The new building comprising of seven rooms, including two for the Executives, was constructed under the PMGSY funding of the Centre.
