Sougaijam Dibyalaxmi Devi, class IX student of Catholic School, Canchipur will represent Manipur in the National Level Science Students� Science Seminar 2004 to be held at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, Kolkata on Oct 4.She sealed the berth by securing the top position in the 26th State Level Students� Science Seminar 2004 held today at John-stone Hr Sec School on the topic �Science Awareness: Needs and Prospects� organized by Directorate of Education (Schools).
Education Minister Francis Ngajokpa inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest while Education (S) Commissioner P Bharat (IAS) presided the occasion.
Sixteen competitors from equal number of educational institutes of the State took part in the seminar eligible for participants upto class X standard.
Besides elaborating on slide shows related to the topic the student participants presented their respective papers at the programme.
Based on the paper presentations of the students the judges posed relevant questionnaire to the competitors before the winner was announced in late afternoon.
Merit prize: The Islamic Cultural Research Organisation has distributed meritorious prizes to students during a function on September 19.
