Associations protest authority's failure to book culprits

Senapati, August 10 2017:
Following the failure of the authority concerned to book the culprit (s) of the "rape and attempted murder " of a minor girl from Viewland on August 1, a protest demonstration was staged by the JAC, NPO, SDWA, SDSA, SKAWWA, Liangmai Naga Women Union and locals at Traffic point, Senapati DHQ today .
Condemning the crime, the protesters have demanded the authority concerned to furnish the details of investigation and information of the suspect to JAC, to immediately book the culprit, pressurize the law enforcement agency to expedite the case and to ensure justice of the victim .
All business establishments in the town remained shut in observance of the public protest .
After a meeting held at the traffic point, the protesters stormed Senapati police station to find out whether the culprit is in the custody of the police .
President of SKAWWA, Dailuru appealed the gathering to support the cause and come together so that justice is served to the girl .
Dailuru stated that the minor came to sense on August 5 at the hospital and have told the name of the culprits who committed the gruesome crime and on August 6, she provided the statement about what happened on the day of August 1 .
Still then the police have not been able to book the culprits .
Liangmai Naga Women Union president assured to support the JAC and frontal Senapati organisation until justice is served .
She appealed all the people to refrain from such crimes and added that the failure of the Government to bring immediate justice for such cases has resulted in occurrence of many in the State.
