CCpur, August 10 2017:
The National People's Party, a coalition partner in the BJP led Government, today inaugurated a new office in Churachandpur and appointed a fresh face to head the party's district affairs even as it has set its eyes on a better foothold .
Several party leaders including the State president Thangminlen Kipgen, the working president Ajang Khongsai, vice president Dr Zilasana, chairman of Legal affairs Huidrom Sushil, and general secretary Thongkam Haokip besides others, attended today's inauguration at Red Cross Road .
Addressing the gathering moments after officially inaugurating the party office, Thangminlen said his party has been formulating a protracted plan to garner the confidence of voters, particularly in Churachandpur .
"The NPP is a party run by the locals and it is high time that the public too realise the burden in having to beg with people from the mainland and subsist at their mercy.
The ease of having our own people in power, to share our grievances and troubles in our own language needs to be appreciated," he said and added that with just 4 members in the current Assembly the party managed to get a Cabinet berth for all, and the party is confident it will form the Government if it could manage 20 in the next election .
He also handed over an appointment letter to Paolen, the newly appointed Churachandpur district president – a relatively fresh face in the political circle.
The district president according to Thangminlen, will work in co-ordination with the State vice president in-charge of Churachandpur, Henlenthang Thanglet to expand the office bearers.
