13th Governor's Cup Fencing UPAA Kyamgei clinch overall team title

Imphal, August 10 2017:
UPAA Kyamgei win the overall team champion title to take 13th Governor's Cup Fencing 2017 trophy with 11 gold, 8 silver and 16 bronze medals.
The Governor's Cup Fencing which started on 5th of this month came to an end today at Khuman Lampak.
It is organized under All Manipur Fencing Association partici-pated by 13 affiliated units.
187 boy and 144 girl fencers took part in the Cup .

Secretory to the Governor of Manipur, Prof.Dr TH Suraj and W Suraj Scientific Officer MANIREDA were present as honourable guests and distributed the prizes .
UPAA Kyamgei also took the overall boys' and girls' title with 51 and 82 points respectively.
UPAA Kyamgei also took mini- boys' team title with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals and 14 points in the tally.
Sub- junior boys' and junior girls also took their team titles with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals giving 15 points each in both categories .
In sub-junior girls' categories SAIRC took 1 gold and 2 silver and claimed the title with 11 points.
Cadet girls' title also went to SAIRC with 13 by getting 2 gold and 1 silver medals.
SAIRC also got the junior-boys' title with 11 points from 2 gold, 1 bronze medals to take Wakambam Noidya Singh Trophy .
SWC Khongman took cadet boys' title by winning with 9 points from 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals and took Oinam Yaima Singh Trophy .
MPSC claimed the women's team title with 16 points from 2 gold and 2 silver medals and took Hijam Ongbi RK Sanatombi Memorial Trophy while MISSIKHOL took the senior team title with 9 points from 3 silver medals taking the Aribam Nabakis-hore Sharma Memorial Trophy .
In the junior- boys' sabre event, S Chingkheinganba of UPAA took the gold, O Dinkash of SWC the silver medals and Sh Tejbanta of SWC and N Demison of UPAA took the bronze medals.
In the cadet-girls' foil event, Ph Anita and Khushburani of SAIRC took the gold and silver medals while N Asha of UPAA and N Mona of SWC took the bronze medals .
In the women epee event RK Rebika of MISSIKHOL took the gold, E Geeta of MPSC the silver medals while A Devala of YDC and Kiranbala of SAIRC took the bronze medals.
