Charging NSCN (IM) of violating the unilateral ceasefire and slaying four Kuki National Army activists, the KNA has decided to withdraw the existing truce with immediate effect.
A press statement issued by KNA's deputy director of information and publicity department charged the NSCN (IM) of killing two KNA civil workers during the last three months at Litan Sareikhong of Ukhrul district for which the KNA had demanded clarification on the status of the cease-fire.
It also informed that captain TT Kuki of the KNA was slain by IM cadres at Yaingangpokpi Bazar today forcing the outfit to call off the truce.
Meanwhile, a police report informed of recovering a male body from near Yaingangpokpi Bazar today.
The deceased identified as Thongthang Touthang Kuki (45) was reportedly shot dead by three unidentified persons at the Thamnapokpi crossing of Imphal-Ukhrul route at around 8.30 am, said the report.
