The Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) of the Border Security Force (BSF) located near Gangpimualkoi village here organised a grand Advance Christmas celebration at the Motivation Hall within its campus last evening from 4 pm onward.
About 500 people from the surrounding localities including choir groups, speakers and Christian singers attended the function.
For a change, the tight military atmosphere within the campus give way to one of conviviality and happiness as sounds of Christmas resonates all evening.
Sources from the STC said that they have always made it a point to celebrate important festivals of all religion with the aim to bring about a spirit of oneness, harmony and peace in the region.
These informal interactions with the civil population on a daily basis have endeared us to the public whose interests we are here to serve, it added.
Presentation of Christmas choirs by choir groups from Phailian, Bijang localities and choir group from the Border Christian Fellowship (BCF) within the campus presented melodious Christmas choirs while Christian singers like Veven, Lunniang and Esther Sitlhou enthral the crowd with beautiful songs during the function.
Christmas messages were also heard from speakers.
