Imphal, December 09:
Following acute shortage of water at RIMS due to the ongoing cease work strike by PHED employees, admission of patients and operation except for emergency cases have been cancelled with immediate effect.
In a statement, RIMS Media Adviser Iboyaima Laithangbam informed that the decision was taken by the RIMS authorities during a meeting held at the office of Medical Superintendent Dr Thiyam Ibohal Singh today.
Stating that one/two water tankers provided daily by the Fire Department was insufficient for running the Hospital, he said that the indoor patients will also be discharged phase wise as it was becoming very difficult for providing food without sufficient water supply.
He also said that the members present at the meeting while unequivocally condemning the abduction of the three PHE employees by the KLA cadres also urged the Govt to find out a solution and help end the hostage crisis.
