District hospital closed, SBI reopens

Churachandpur this week saw a rise in COVID-19 cases as it wound up the weekend with 36 new cases on Saturday.
It also saw the busiest bank closed for three days within the week while the District Hospital will remain closed until Sunday.
On September 30, an SBI staff working in the main branch tested positive for the virus which led to the bank being closed for sanitization for three days.
It only reopened today.
The bank's closure was compounded by the erratic ATM services that was triggered by the recent scam within the Cash Replenishment Agency, affecting the district financial flow.
On Friday, the District Hospital reported that a blood bank technician had tested positive for Covid-19.Even as the entire staff of the blood bank were confined within their perimeter, 3 specialist including a surgeon, a gynaecologist, an anaesthetist, a nurse and a technician working in the OT added to the figure later on the same day.
This forced the Hospital authority to announce the closure of the District Hospital for two days ie Saturday and Sunday, for disinfecting the facilities.
Today, 7 more staff from the hospital tested positive for the contagion.
Besides the hospital staff, 19 local cases including 16 close contacts and 3 fresh cases were recorded today.
9 military personnel and 1 returnee added to the day's count talking the total to 36 .
