King cobra rescued

Imphal, October 03 2020:
The Wildlife Explorers Manipur (WEM) rescued one king cobra from Ningthoukhong Ward no 3 on September 30.The reptile was rescued by a worker of WEM, Dijen Laishram from the house of RK Yaiskullakpa.
In the presence of DFO, Bishnupur, Dr Rebika Soibam Chanu, WEF secretary, Premjit Elangbam, joint secretary, Harmenn Huidrom, the king cobra was released at a safe habitat on October 2.King cobra has been declared as a vulnerable species and placed on the red list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
It is also rarely sighted in Manipur.
