Imphal, January 25 2014 :
Students Club Yumnam Khunou, Ishi-kha Youth Development Club and Kuki Inpi Saikul have jointly appealed for safe and immediate release of the two labourers who were abducted by some unidentified armed persons from New Boljang village, Saikul sub-division, Senapati district.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the Students Club Yumnam Khunou advisor M Ramesh appealed to all concerned to refrain from all sorts of abduction in Khundrakpam and Saikul Assembly segments.
Thangjam Dilip (40) of Yumnam Khunou and Oinam Kellon (55) of Ishikha were abducted by some unidentified persons from New Bol- jang in the night of January 22 .
Kuki Inpi Saikul president Thangkam Lupheng said that Saikul and Sagolmang areas have been witnessing many cases of abduction since the past few months.
People have appealed time and again not to disturb development activities but armed groups have been paying no attention.
Appealing for release of the labourers, Thangkam said that a joint meeting of people of Khundrakpam and Saikul ACs would be held at Sagol-mang January 27 to discuss about tackling the scourge of abduction and other criminal activities collectively.
The meeting would also explore all options if the two labourers are not released by tomorrow, Thangkam said.
Decrying that the Govt still remains a silent spectator in spite of repeated cases of abduction, he asserted that the Government would be held responsible for any untoward incident resulting from the particular abduction case.
